Of special attraction for the birdwatchers, because it is inhabited by a large number of birds, among which the red-legged, frigates, pigeons of Galapagos among other varieties of unique birds of the archipelago attract attention. The island Genoese occupies about 14 km2 and its maximum elevation is 64 m. The horseshoe-shaped island has a volcanic caldera whose wall has collapsed, forming the great Darwin Bay, surrounded by cliffs. The ravine is an extraordinary steep road that leads through a colony of seabirds full of life, to the cliffs that are 25 m high. At the top of the tour continues inland, passing through more colonies of seabirds that are in a forest of Palo Santo.
Marine animals are also present on this island, such as sea lions and seals. You will also have the opportunity to see the smallest marine iguana in the Galapagos Islands.
Snorkeling and scuba diving in Galapagos are recommended, the visitor will be surrounded by playful sea lions and captivating hammerhead sharks.
To get to the island you must take a private tour from Puerto Ayora or Baltra, and make a wet landing in an area of the island called Darwin Bay.
